MBA GROUP APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING SCHEME

The Master Builders Association Group Apprenticeship Training Scheme is a full-time employment based training program that provides an opportunity to learn all aspects of a trade in the building and construction industry.  The MBA Group Apprenticeship Training Scheme embraces the approach whereby an apprentice is registered with the Association and outsourced to builders and subcontractors on a rotational basis to provide workplace-training experience. It is a uniquely Australian scheme aimed at providing builders and subcontractors with apprentices in the building and construction industry.

Alternatively, if the builder and subcontractor have their own apprentice, the Association can contract that individual through the Scheme and provide them with the same service.

This successful system is advantageous to training employers who work in an unpredictable and constrained environment and who are unable to offer continuous satisfactory training on their own.

This system also gives the apprentices an opportunity to be placed in different environments with various facilities and aspects of the work, developing their talents further, resulting in a pool of people with a wider range of expertise, competence and versatility.

MBA apprentices are not only exposed to an on-the-job and off-the-job training environment but also obtain a nationally recognised qualification which has been developed by industry for the industry under the MBA as a registered training organisation.

One of the main advantages of a training employer appointing an apprentice through the apprenticeship scheme is to assist in the development of a more productive worker who is familiar with the training employer?s business and trained for that particular industry.

Several other advantages include:

  • Better trained, more versatile and multi-skilled worker
  • Specific industry training helps the employer to gain a competitive advantage
  • Provides a stable foundation for the growth of your business
  • Apprenticeship training is focused on competence
  • Industry support
  • Control over recruitment process
  • Employing an apprentice of your choice

Should the training employer be unable to sustain continued employment of the apprentice, the MBA Scheme will arrange for the relocation of the apprentice without any cost to the training employer.
