The Master Builders Association of NSW Waterproofing Council was established to address longstanding waterproofing problems in the NSW building industry through a philosophy based upon establishing best practice.

The Waterproofing Council has established recognised waterproofing technical guides which provide detailed information and advice to the waterproofing industry on the installation, maintenance and inspection of bathrooms, toilet, laundry’s and other wet areas.

The Waterproofing Council’s publication, Guide to Internal Area Waterproofing has fast become the handbook for technical advice and as an education and training resource.

This publication formed the basis of a co-operative training initiative between the MBA, TAFE  NSW-Sydney Institute, and the Construction Industry Training Advisory Board. The training and assessment initiative developed through this alliance received the NSW Training Initiative Award at the, 2004 NSW Training Awards.

Membership to the waterproofing council is open to waterproofing contractors, consultants, suppliers and individuals providing professional waterproofing services.
