Building Awards
Northern NSW, South East NSW and Southern Central NSW conducted inaugural regional building award competitions in 2008 with their 2009 awards culminating in respective gala presentation evenings in Ballina, Ulladulla and Wagga Wagga. There were more than 35 categories in the competition covering everything from contract homes, display homes, project homes and renovations/additions to multi-unit developments, swimming pools and commercial building projects. Supplementary categories included best use of energy, best use of timber and sub-contractor of the year.
Again close to 250 guests attended each of the Northern (Ballina) and Southern (Ulladulla) awards and 150 guests were thrilled with the presentation at Wagga.
Hunter Awards
The 2009 Awards included projects from the Central Coast and Hunter through to Port Macquarie in the Mid North Coast areas.
The awards included more categories for the Housing Builders and Renovators, as well as the ever popular kitchen, bathroom and swimming pool categories. The gala evening was attended by 500 guests in September 2009.
Hansen Yuncken’s Port Macquarie Entertainment Centre progressed to win the coveted commercial award in its category ant the National MBA Awards in November 2009.

The 2010 Regional Building Awards are now open for entries and we encourage all members to participate in light of the resounding success of the past two years.

Geographical Areas
The Northern region competition covers from Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Ballina, Tweed and inland across the ranges. This region includes the Divisions of Mid-north Coast, North Coast, Tweed and North North West.
The South East region competition covers from Wollongong and the Illawarra, the southern Highlands and the South coast to the Victorian border. This region includes the Division of Illawarra, Southern Highlands, South Coast and Snowy Mountains.
The Southern Central region competition covers west of the ACT along the Murray River and includes Wagga, Cootamundra, Temora, Griffith and Deniliquin. This region includes the Divisions of Riverina, MIA and Murray.
